Naples and the Bonita Bay community offer many opportunities for philanthropic participation. Naples is world known for its giving leadership and supports programs that reach the four corners of the globe. Give your time, your skills or your support while meeting fellow supporters.
Residents of Bonita Bay have established a strong tradition of community involvement and grass-roots support of not-for-profit, arts and educational efforts. A few examples: Each year since 2000, Bonita Bay residents have been the second largest contributor to the United Way of Lee County campaign, second topped only by Publix. Residents organize annual golf tournaments for the Guadalupe Center of Immokalee, which serves migrant workers and their children. They founded the Renaissance Group, which pools resources to improve affordable housing in Bonita Springs. They published a cookbook to benefit Hope Hospice, and they give hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys to soup kitchens each year. Fishing and Boating Club members reward migrant workers’ children who study hard with annual fishing excursions. No wonder Gulfshore Life Magazine honored the residents of Bonita Bay as the Outstanding Volunteer Fund Raiser Group as part of National Philanthropy Day 2007.
